노트북에서 multi reader 가 작동 안 될때.

sd card, multi reader, multi card

내장형 멀티 카드가 자동으로 장착 되지 않을 때. unmount시.

문제요약

sd card를 삽입 후 전원을 넣으면 장착이 된다.

하지만 sd card를 뺀 후 전원을 넣으면 인식이 안되는 문제.

아...나는 이것이 우분투 문제인 줄 알았다.

알고 보니 BIOS 설정 문제였다.

다시 말해서 hardware 문제다.

BIOS 설정을 건드려 줘야 한다.

해결법

전원을 넣고 ESC를 누르면 BIOS로 들어갈 수 있는 화면이 나온다.

들어간 다음 설정에서 Card Reader Power Saving을 disable 한다.

이거 몇 달 동안 고생하다가 우연히 구글 검색으로 알아냈다.

ㅜㅜ. 우분투 문제가 아니었어...

I was having trouble with the card reader not working on my HP dv4-1500 laptop; although it would work in Windows, lspci didn't even show that the device existed when running Ubuntu (Karmic). Putting a card in didn't help, nor rebooting with a card installed. It turned out that there was a BIOS setting, under "System Configuration", called "Card Reader Power Saving", that is on by default. Apparently the kernel doesn't know to look for the device and go through whatever procedure the Windows driver was using to wake it up. Turning off that option made the card reader show up in lspci and function normally. Hopefully this won't be a significant power drain; it is just a card reader, so it doesn't seem likely that it'll do much.
